Day 1
Your journey begins with your arrival in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s bustling capital city. You'll fly to Arba Minch, a scenic town located in southern Ethiopia. After landing, you'll drive to the highlands of Chencha to visit the Dorze people, renowned for their towering beehive-shaped huts and vibrant weaving traditions. The Dorze are also known for their use of false banana plants and intricate cotton spinning. You’ll explore the village, interact with locals, and enjoy breathtaking views over the Rift Valley and the twin lakes of Chamo and Abaya. In the evening, you will return to Arba Minch to rest and prepare for the next day's journey into the heart of the Omo Valley. Your overnight stay will be at Mora Heights Hotel. Today, you will begin with a morning visit to Lake Chamo, famous for its large population of crocodiles, hippos, and abundant birdlife. You will head south to the Konso region, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its terraced agriculture and complex social structure. The Konso people are also famous for their wooden grave markers known as waka, which are carved to honor warriors and community elders. You will tour a traditional Konso village and learn about their unique cultural practices and architecture. Continuing the journey, you will drive through dramatic landscapes and scattered tribal villages until you reach Jinka, a vibrant market town that serves as the base for exploring some of the most remote tribes in the region. Your overnight stay will be at Emerald Lodge. Mid-range lodge located in Turmi (Lower Omo Valley) Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 3
Today is dedicated to experiencing the rich traditions of the Hamar people. In the morning, you’ll visit a traditional Hamar village, where you’ll learn about their customs, such as their distinctive hairstyles, ochre-painted bodies, and their deep connection to cattle. If you're lucky and the timing is right, you may witness a traditional bull jumping ceremony, a rite of passage where a young man must leap over several bulls to prove his readiness for adulthood and marriage. This event is accompanied by singing, dancing, and symbolic whipping rituals performed by female relatives. Even if a ceremony is not taking place, the cultural exchange and storytelling with village elders and families will offer a powerful glimpse into a way of life that has remained unchanged for centuries. Your overnight stay will be at Emerald Lodge. Mid-range lodge located in Turmi (Lower Omo Valley) Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)

This morning, you will travel deep into the Mursi people, who are one of the most visually striking communities in Africa, especially known for the women who wear large clay lip plates and elaborate body scarification. You will have a respectful and guided visit to one of their villages, gaining insight into their culture, daily life, and symbolic body adornment.
