Day 1
On arrival at Kigali International Airport (we recommend a morning arrival), our dedicated Hermosa Life Tours and Travel team will be at the Kigali International Airport for the meet and greet and assist with customs clearing. You will go on a short city tour and visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center. Enjoy lunch in a city restaurant before heading to Volcanoes National Park. The park is in northwestern Rwanda and borders Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. Volcanoes National Park is home to gorillas and golden monkeys, and you can go on several hikes in Rwanda. You will arrive at the booked accommodation with check-in and relaxation and can spend the evening at leisure. Budget hotel in Ruhengeri (City, Rwanda) Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 2
Wake up to a delicious breakfast at the hotel. Golden monkey trekking takes place in Volcanoes National Park at 07h00 every day, the same time as gorilla trekking. These rare monkey species are also listed as endangered. Volcanoes National Park has habituated groups that are available for trekking by visitors. The exercise starts with a short briefing from the park ranger at the RDB office. Thereafter, you will proceed to the starting point to trek the golden monkeys through the rainforest of the Volcanoes Park. Return to the hotel for a quick lunch, check out, and say goodbye before proceeding to the Cyanika border post. From Cyanika, you will cross to meet our Uganda-based professional tour driver-guide, who guide you for the remainder of the tour. You will drive to your lodge and check in on arrival. Relax, have dinner, and spend the evening at leisure as you await the next day's adventures. Budget hotelless than 1hr drive from Volcanoes NP (Gorillas, Rwanda) Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 3
After breakfast, continue to the park offices, where you will receive a briefing from a ranger guide on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. Thereafter, you will enter the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure and encounter. Gorilla trekking is challenging, but nothing beats the experience of finally observing a gorilla group. Always follow the instructions from the guides, stay calm and avoid sudden movements as you take your photos. Once you have spent one hour with the gorillas, you will head back to the starting point, where you will find our driver waiting for you. The driver will take you back to the lodge for lunch and rest. After dinner, you can spend the rest of the evening at leisure. Mid-range lodge bordering Bwindi Impenetrable NP (Gorillas, Uganda) without fences Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 4
Wake up early for breakfast before you transfer to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famously known for its tree-climbing lion population. Once there, undertake a game drive in search of these rare species of lions. If you get the chance to spot the lions up in the tree, the sight is picturesque and unforgettable. Exit from Ishasha (south) and head to the booked accommodation in the north sector. You will check in with relaxation using the lodge amenities, have dinner and rest. Mid-range lodge located just outside Queen Elizabeth NP (Uganda) Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 5
Have an early breakfast and proceed for a morning game drive safari on the Kasenyi plains. Look out for Cape buffalos, herds of elephants, and lions and leopards (though hard to spot), among others. Return to the accommodation for some rest and lunch. You will then go for a 2-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel that connects Lakes George and Edward. During the trip, the sight of wildlife, including giant hippos, elephants, antelopes and crocodiles, among others, will mesmerize you. You will also see many varieties of birds on the water shores. Later, you can do an evening game drive (optional), then return to the lodge. Mid-range lodge located just outside Queen Elizabeth NP (Uganda) Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 6
Wake up early for breakfast and then drive to the nearby Kalinzu Forest Reserve. The forest is home to habituated chimpanzees plus other primates, including baboons, monkeys and various bird species. Today, you will spend the early part of the day trekking chimpanzees. This thrilling adventure will reward you with playful primates jumping from one tree to another, hence, great photography. Thereafter, transfer to Lake Mburo National Park via Mbarara city with a lunch stop. Once in Mburo National Park, you can check in and relax or go for an evening game drive. Budget tented bush camp located just outside Lake Mburo NP (Uganda) Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included) Drinking water (Other drinks not included)

Wake up early to enjoy breakfast and proceed for the Lake Mburo National Park morning bushwalk with an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guide. On this early guided walk, you will have the opportunity to encounter zebras, giraffes, elands, Cape buffalos, topis and other antelopes at close range. Take the trail to the top of the hill to see Lake Mburo and beyond. Return to the lodge, check out and then hit the road to Entebbe. En route, stop at Kayabwe to see the equator and have lunch. Absolutely perfect experience using Hermosa for our 2 day tour of Volcanoes NP! Communications with Tiamo leading up to our early morning pick-up in Kigali went very smoothly as the itinerary was to get to park in time to meet the gorilla trekkers that same morning. From the moment we met our driver Muhammed, we knew we were in great hands. Laughing and joking with Muhammed during all the driving was as much a part of the experience as the Gorillas and our crater hike. When we got back to Kigali we enjoyed a Nigerian meal with him as well, and now consider him a friend, amazing guy! Overall the experience couldn't have been better! We've just completed a month long journey through Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, and Seychelles, and I can say without hesitation Rwanda was our favorite country! The phenomenal tour with Hermosa was definitely a big part of this. Highly reccomend Hermosa for your next journey!

I recently did a 2-day safari in Akagera National Park and it was such a great experience. I went as a solo female traveler and felt completely safe and well taken care of the entire time thanks to my guide, Richard. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and seemed to know exactly where to find the animals. He even stopped on our way back into town for some souvenirs based on our conversation earlier in the day Richard had a great eye and we ended up spotting so much wildlife throughout the trip. Some of my favourite moments were watching an elephant walk right beside the car, seeing giraffes up close, and spotting a hidden bushbuck. We also did a sunset boat cruise which had lots of birds to see. It wasn't the highlight for me, but still interesting if you enjoy birdwatching. The group before had seen a lot of wildlife so I think it’s more dependent on luck. The company was really easy to communicate with and made the booking experience quite seamless. I reached out to several but went with them based on their ease of communication and good reviews. The price was fair and on par with my other quotes. Overall, I’m so glad I chose this safari over the gorilla trekking experience. It felt more personal and relaxed, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rwanda. If you can, definitely ask for Richard, he really made the trip memorable.

I’m an experienced traveler and have traveled and worked in many countries in Africa and elsewhere and this was a seriously professional tour service. From booking until we boarded the plane, Hermosa provided fabulous and attentive and flexible service. The communication was superb, our guide Richard was incredibly knowledgeable, courteous, accommodating, and I’ve rarely felt so taken care of or safe on any trip or tour. The accommodations were even nicer and more impressive than in the pictures, the food was delicious and beautifully presented. We did a gorilla trek and spent an hour literally sitting next to an entire family of Gorillas, practically at arms length, and I think, after spending time staring into the eyes of baby gorillas from only a few feet away, I will never be the same. I absolutely recommend Hermosa, and definitely ask for Richard!
