Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve, located in northern Kenya. As we journey through the central highlands, enjoy the picturesque countryside before arriving at Samburu Sopa Lodge, your accommodation for the next two nights. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive in this arid yet wildlife-rich reserve, home to unique species such as the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, and the long-necked gerenuk. Game Tracking in Samburu
Rise early for a morning game drive, where you have the best chances of spotting predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs. The Ewaso Nyiro River, a lifeline for the park, attracts a variety of wildlife, including elephants and crocodiles. Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before setting out on another game drive, exploring more of Samburu’s unique ecosystem. Day 3
Samburu to Aberdare National Park
After breakfast, depart for Aberdare National Park, a lush mountainous region characterized by dense forests, waterfalls, and abundant wildlife. Arrive at Aberdare County Club for Lunch. After lunch, you will be transferred to The Ark Lodge, an iconic treehouse-style accommodation overlooking a floodlit waterhole and salt lick, attracting animals throughout the night. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon at the lodge, observing elephants, buffalos, and other wildlife from the comfort of the viewing decks. Day 4
Aberdare to Lake Nakuru National Park
Following breakfast, you will be transferred back to the Aberdare Country Club, the base hotel for the The Ark Lodge where you will reconnect with your driver/guide. Continue your journey towards Lake Nakuru National Park, renowned for its flamingo-lined shores and rhino conservation efforts. Arrive at Midland Hotel for check-in and lunch before setting out on an afternoon game drive. Expect to encounter both black and white rhinos, as well as Rothschild’s giraffes, buffalos, and tree-climbing lions. As the sun sets, return to the hotel for a relaxing evening. The vast plains of the Mara host abundant wildlife, including the Big Five—lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards, and rhinos. Game Tracking in Masai Mara
Enjoy a full day exploring the Masai Mara, with both morning and afternoon game drives. The Mara is home to an incredible variety of animals, and if visiting between July and October, you may witness the Great Migration, where thousands of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River. Visit a local Maasai village for a cultural experience, learning about their traditions and way of life. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and storytelling by the campfire. Our trip to Hells Gates coutesy of Kriproto Safaris was marvelous. The tour guide ensured that all the requirements in terms of documents and suppliers were available even before the start of the journey. Not only did he ensure that we got on site early enough but also made sure we got to visit all the scenic places within reach though not part of the itinerary. We had games to play, swim and the meals were served on time. Call Kriproto Safaris for a great experience in East Africa.
