Day 2
After your breakfast in the morning, you will begin your spectacular whole-day game drive which will allow spotting of the magnificent wildlife in the park. The reserve is known for providing excellent predator sightings thanks to its relatively large population of lions, cheetahs and leopards. Early mornings and late afternoons are the best time to spot animals as they are most active. This is the time that the big cats are most active and can provide some of the most dramatic photography. You will have an opportunity to drive down to the Mara River, the site of the Great Migration when in season—July through October. To bring more texture to your experience at the Mara, you may want to take advantage of several optional events that we offer at an extra cost. Experience a visit to the local Maasai people in their nearby village. Want an unforgettable sight? Take a pre-dawn hot air balloon ride high above the reserve as the morning light breaks across the golden savannah. You will arrive at the pink lake in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Lake Nakuru is one of several Rift Valley lakes whose ecosystem supports a wide ecological diversity with flamingos and other water birds as the major attractions of the area. Other than birds, 56 different species of mammals exist in this ecosystem including white rhinos and buffaloes.
