We had the privilege of spending four unforgettable days on safari, guided by the amazing Heaven Temba, followed by three relaxing days in the paradise of Zanzibar. Thanks to his experience and intuition, we witnessed breathtaking encounters: lions resting under acacia trees, a cheetah sprinting across the plains, playful hyenas, stealthy leopards, and the quiet majesty of hippos wallowing in the water. Somehow, Shabani balanced both our energies with ease. He was a fountain of knowledge—about animals, birds, trees, landscapes, languages, and culture. He could sense when we wanted silence, and when we needed stories. He navigated rough roads, complicated logistics, and even unexpected schedule changes with a calm professionalism that gave us total confidence. But more than that—he cared. When we were lucky enough to witness a leopard hunting, he was just as excited as we were. When it rained, he smiled through it.
