Day 2
7:00 am start and head to Kibale Park - the primate Capital, this is probably the longest drive of the trip. Carry snacks as it might be long before you get a decent meal. About 7hrs including breaks and lunch in Fort Portal town. At about 3.30 pm, we`ll drive to the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary. It is a jungle swamp and you cross the various sections by wooden boardwalks. Here you can see different flora and fauna that is jungle reminiscent. It is a great place for birding which includes the Great Blue Turaco. Primates can be found here, including chimpanzees at times. The sanctuary is also home to the semi-aquatic Sitatunga Antelope and other mammals. This is the area where the West African Jungle meets East Africa and the vegetation, plants, flowers, underbrush, trees, and Palms are worth a visit in themselves. Move to the lodge, check-in, dinner and overnight stay. Mid-range lodge bordering Kibale NP (Chimps) without fences All meals included Drinks not included
Day 3
Breakfast at the Lodge and we’re off to Kibale Forest Headquarters for Chimpanzee Tracking. We need to be at Kanyanchu Visitor Center no later than 8:00 am for the pre-trek briefing. This is a guided trek, and with 13 primates in the park, one usually finds at least 5 or six different types of primates. Then there is the forest itself with its beauty and ruggedness. Butterflies and exotic birds abound in this park, and the tracking experience takes in a lot more than Chimpanzee tracking, there is a beautiful and inspiring natural setting that is a haven for wildlife, birds, plants, and trees. The chimpanzees you will encounter are habituated, meaning that they are used to human beings. The Chimpanzee Trek is about 3½ hours in length, morning tracking is from 8-11:30 am. Day 4
Breakfast and we are taking a 2½ hour drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, offering magnificent views of the Rwenzori Mountains of the Moon, the Western Rift Escarpment, and the vast lakes, including Lake George and Lake Edwards, which are connected by the natural Kazinga Channel. Along the route, there are approximately 12 explosion craters to admire. After our drive, we proceed to check in and enjoy a delicious lunch. Afternoon game drive across the candelabra euphoria tree-studded savannah, where you will see lions, leopards, bush pigs, giant forest hogs, elephant herds, buffaloes, various species of antelopes, savannah birds, hyenas, monitor lizards, an occasional rock python and lots more. Return to the lodge for dinner and a night's rest. Mid-range lodge located just outside Kyambura Gorge (Chimps) All meals included Drinks not included
Day 5
Would you like to have breakfast before or after your game drive? Our game drive starts at the crack of dawn, around 6:30 am, and we have the option to pick up a Uganda Wildlife Authority Ranger to join us. Morning is the prime time to witness predators returning from their night of prowling, and there's nothing quite like experiencing a beautiful Savannah Sunrise. From 2 pm to 4:30 pm, we will embark on a 2 and a half-hour boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, known for having one of the highest concentrations of hippos in Africa. This is a pleasant boat ride where you can get some great pictures of elephants, antelopes, crocodiles, monitor lizards, predators in late afternoon and buffaloes on shore. Hopefully, you will get an open-mouthed hippo shot with your camera. If time allows, we would be delighted to organize a late afternoon game drive and then head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Mid-range lodge located just outside Kyambura Gorge (Chimps) All meals included Drinks not included
Day 6
Breakfast and check-out of the lodge. We shall then head south to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will get to see the famous tree climbing lions. This is such a sight for sore eyes that will make your entire day. You will then head to the Buhoma sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, with a stopover for lunch on the way. Check-in at the lodge, dinner later and an overnight stay. Luxury lodge bordering Buhoma (Bwindi Impenetrable NP) without fences All meals included Drinks not included
Day 7
A Gorilla Trek usually takes about 5-hours depending on the gorilla family’s location on that day and can be a bit on the rigorous side. We consider your input and place you with a Gorilla Family Group. Gorilla Trekking is well worth the money and time invested by you to be with the Gentle Giants of the Forest in Bwindi. What To Wear: It is best to wear light trousers, a long-sleeved shirt, boots, a hat, and some use garden gloves made of cotton to help you pull yourselves up on vines or branches, a light rain jacket, a daypack. You will spend one hour with them, which is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most. There are rules of conduct while tracking the gorillas and they need to be followed for the protection of the Mountain Gorillas and your well-being. After getting your share of pictures and spending time observing the gorillas, it is that which will remain long after you return home. After your trek, you will head back to the lodge for some Rest and Relaxation. Luxury lodge bordering Buhoma (Bwindi Impenetrable NP) without fences All meals included Drinks not included
Day 8
After breakfast, we will be traveling for 5-6 hours to reach Lake Mburo National Park. Along the way, we will stop for lunch in Mbarara town. Once we arrive at the park and our lodge, we will check-in and have a mouth watering lunch. Later in the afternoon, we have a game drive planned. On this drive, you will get to see a number of animals including zebras, giraffes, baboons, buffalos and so many more. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Luxury lodge located inside Lake Mburo NP All meals included Drinking water (Other drinks not included)
Day 9
We’ll have breakfast followed by a walking safari. After the nature walk, we'll prepare to depart for Kampala and make a stop at the Equator for some photo opportunities. The drive from Lake Mburo Park to Entebbe usually takes around 5 hours, but with breaks along the way, it could be closer to 7 hours. Our next destination is the Entebbe area where we'll wait for your departure back to your home country. All meals included Drinks not included
