Day 1
Johannesburg to Kruger National Park
Depart from Johannesburg O.R. Tambo International Airport on a flight to Hoedspruit Airport. Upon your arrival at Hoedspruit Airport, you will be met and transferred to the Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge. (This safari may also begin/end in Cape town with direct flights from Cape Town available.) After settling into your air-conditioned suite and enjoying a sumptuous lunch at the lodge's restaurant, you will gear up for your first of many adventures in the Kruger National Park. Head out with your ranger and tracker for the afternoon game drive through the reserve. Arrive back at the lodge in time to freshen up before enjoying a sumptuous dinner. Designer menus offer a traditional taste delicately balanced with European flair. Big Five Game Drives
With some of Kruger’s most spectacular landscapes, an extraordinary variety of wildlife, and the many species of birdlife and plantlife within the concession, each safari experience is unique. Guests can enjoy a morning and afternoon safari in open 4x4 vehicles. The early morning safaris are very rewarding with ideal light for photography. Lions are still very active and on the move at this time, antelopes are more energetic and an abundance of birds may also be seen. The afternoon safaris provide an opportunity to see nocturnal animals and perhaps even the elusive leopard. Guided bush walks are available to guests accompanied by highly qualified guides (can be requested in advance at an additional charge) For relaxation between safaris, the sparkling swimming pool promises a refreshing dip while providing the opportunity to enjoy the rich and varied wildlife that comes to the river for a cooling drink. Shann organized our six night trip end to end. All we had to do is be where we were supposed to be. The Shalati Bridge Train Hotel is a must stay if you are doing a safari in Kruger National Park. We stayed at the Waterfalls Lodge in Victoria Falls, the accomodations were just fine, but nothing special. The staff was outstanding. We highly recommend Shann and Safari.com for your vacation planning. They are outstanding!

Excellent hospitality
Hoyo Hoyo safari lodge has exceptional hospitality and the staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and aim to please! The experience was amazing and trip of a lifetime. The rooms are as seen on website! So cool! The only negative I have to say is the smell in the rooms (musty smell) needs to be addressed! I’m not sure if it’s due to all the rain recently or if that is the way they are due to the bamboo walls!
