Tour step
You'll be collected from the airport. Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost.
Day 1
After arriving in Windhoek, you will be picked up from the Airport and taken to Sossusvlei. You'll embark on a scenic drive to Sossusvlei, passing vast open plains, rugged mountains, and unique desert vegetation. Along the way, you'll spot wildlife such as oryx, springbok, and ostriches before arriving at your lodge. After check-in, you will enjoy the serene desert atmosphere, with the evening offering a spectacular sunset over the dunes. Mid-range lodge located outside Sossusvlei (Sand Dunes) Breakfast & dinner (Lunch not included) Drinks not included
Day 2
You'll begin an early morning Sossusvlei & Deadvlei excursion, witnessing the dramatic colors of the desert at sunrise. You'll climb the iconic Dune 45 for panoramic views of the vast Namib Sand Sea before heading to Deadvlei, a surreal clay pan dotted with ancient, sun-bleached trees. You'll explore Big Daddy, one of the tallest dunes in the world, and visit Sesriem Canyon, a fascinating natural wonder carved by the Tsauchab River. You'll return to the lodge for an afternoon at leisure, with options to enjoy a scenic sundowner or a nature walk. Dinner will be provided at the lodge. Mid-range lodge located outside Sossusvlei (Sand Dunes) Breakfast & dinner (Lunch not included) Drinks not included
Day 3
Today, you'll head towards the coast, stopping for lunch at Walvis Bay. This part of Namibia is known for the huge numbers of flamingos that gather to feed, and you'll be able to get a good look at these beautiful birds. Arriving in the German colonial coastal town of Swakopmund mid-afternoon, there's free time for you to relax at the hotel or enjoy some of the optional activities available. You could head out to sea on a dolphin-watching cruise, or take to the skies over the Namib Desert (book and pay locally). Mid-range hotel located in Swakopmund (City) Breakfast & dinner (Lunch not included) Drinks not included
Day 4
Soon after breakfast, you will embark on the Living Desert Tour excursion. Dry bone, without a trace of moisture, and as dry as a weathered bone are some terms used to describe this unique biome. Sneaky creatures that have adapted to living in harsh environments. For these little creatures, camouflage or agility to fake death helps serve food on the table or avoid being someone’s meal. This is a 4 to 5-hour tour conducted by passionate and experienced desert specialists who are desert conservationists as well. If lucky, you might see the desert's Little Five (shovel-nosed lizard, Namib sand gecko, Namaqua chameleon, Namib Desert sidewinding adder, and the cartwheeling spider, also known as the dancing white lady). Birds of interest include Gray’s lark, tractrix chat, and Damara tern. Mid-range hotel located in Swakopmund (City) Breakfast & dinner (Lunch not included) Drinks not included
Day 5
As the last day together, the time for departure will be determined by the time you depart from the airport. Soon after breakfast, you will leave Swakopmund and drive to Windhoek. This day marks the end of our trip. Breakfast (Lunch & dinner not included) Drinks not included

We felt well advised by africa zim travel&tours even before booking. The whole tour went wonderfully. Times and agreements were honoured and our expectations of what we wanted to see were always met or exceeded. Mtho, our driver and sometimes guide, told us a lot about the countries, people and animals and had the patience to tell us the same thing sometimes four times if we didn't understand it or had already forgotten it. He always spread a good mood with his manner. He drove us safely over the sometimes bumpy and dusty roads. The selected hotels, rooms and meals were consistently good to luxurious. Overall, it was a varied and exciting trip and well worth the price.
