Day 1
Nairobi-Samburu National Park
You will be picked up from Nairobi at 8:00 AM and transferred to Samburu National Reserve. Along the way, enjoy the scenic landscapes of northern Kenya, with views of the rolling hills and the Ewaso Nyiro River. Upon arrival at your lodge or camp, check in and enjoy lunch while taking in the surrounding scenery. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive across Samburu’s semi-arid plains, where you may spot elephants, lions, leopards, and unique species such as the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay under the vast African sky. Explore Samburu National Reserve
After an early breakfast, set out for a full morning game drive in Samburu. The early hours provide the best opportunity to observe wildlife at its most active, with animals often gathered around water sources. Enjoy photography opportunities against the stunning backdrop of the northern plains. Return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest before heading out on an afternoon game drive, exploring more remote areas of the reserve. Conclude the day with dinner and overnight stay at your lodge, reflecting on the day’s sightings and experiences. Samburu-Aberdare National Park
After breakfast, you will depart Samburu and drive to the Aberdare National Park region. The journey passes through scenic highlands, with views of tea plantations, rolling hills, and forested slopes. Upon arrival at your lodge in the Aberdares, check in and enjoy lunch. Depending on your lodge’s location, you may have time to relax and take in the surrounding misty forests, waterfalls, and wildlife. In the afternoon, enjoy a short nature walk or simply unwind at the lodge, enjoying the peaceful highland environment. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge. Aberdare National Park-Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast, depart Aberdare and drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, located in the Laikipia region. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch. Spend the afternoon on a game drive in this private conservancy, which is home to the famous rhinos, elephants, lions, and chimpanzees at the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Capture photographs of wildlife in a more intimate setting than national parks allow. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay, enjoying the serene environment of Ol Pejeta. The lake’s shimmering waters, surrounded by escarpments and forests, provide stunning scenery for photography.
